CIP Program
Credits/Exemptions


Credits granted will be recognized as transfer credits only and will not be assigned a grade. This may affect qualification for an Honours CIP certificate and a student’s chance at winning a CIP prize.

The Institute issues credits for courses from the following programs:

Insurance Brokers Association of Canada
 
With a completed CAIB designation only, applicants are eligible for three (3) credits. They include:

  • C11—Principles and Practice of Insurance
  • C130—Essential Skills for the Insurance Broker and Agent
  • ONE (1) unspecified ELECTIVE credit.

The IAO School
 
A1 = C36—Building Construction, Fire Protection and Basic Hazards
A2 = C37—Industrial and Process Hazards
A3 = C38—Casualty Loss Prevention

Provincial Agent/Broker Licencing
 
Credits are issued for the successful completion of provincial licencing requirements and examinations from the following provinces: Alberta, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Ontario, and Quebec. The credits issued vary with the requirements of each province. Please verify with your local institute.

To apply for these credits:

1. Applicants will need to be a member of the local institute.
2.

Submit copies of the official result or evidence of success—the actual mark and certificate.

3. Submit appropriate payment.
