Effective September 2004, the curriculum will require students to complete 10 courses to graduate (5 mandatory, 3 applied professional, and 2 elective). Currently, the program requires students to complete 12 courses (6 mandatory and 6 elective).

The CIP Program has been enhanced with new texts and teaching aids, but the 9 applied professional courses, of which any 3 are required, represent the greatest advancement. These applied professional courses will be offered at 3 levels of study, in each of 3 categories: agent & broker, underwriter and loss adjuster.

We wanted you, as a graduate of the CIP Program, to be among the first to know about the evolution of the designation. We have undertaken this revision to ensure that the CIP and FCIP designations remain relevant, responsive, and vital to employers in all sectors of the business and of even greater value to current and future designation-holders.

Please feel welcome to call Peter G. Hohman, MBA, FCIP, CAE, President & CEO at (416) 362-8586, ext. 232 or Tim Verbic, MBA, BA (Hons), Director, Business Development, at extension 294, if you have any comments or questions in regards to this new direction.
